A dispute over a home remodeling job led to the arrest early Friday of a Baton Rouge woman who was accused of sending a Facebook message warning the victim not to mess with “the Russian Mafia.”

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies learned that the victim’s husband had remodeled a Confederate Avenue home for Tammy Lyn Bean’s mother-in-law about a year and a half before and was owed $7,000 for the job. Her husband had not been paid, though, she told deputies.

Bean sent the victim a Facebook message around 10:30 p.m., telling the victim that if she wanted to make trouble with “the Russian Mafia that we will wait quietly for (her husband) to make the first move” but that he would need back up, the Sheriff’s Office report says.

The message goes on to threaten her children and says, “I would start that old Mercedes in the morning without a remote … Watch your back girl friend bring it if you got it…”

Deputies called in police dogs to search the 2011 white Mercedes C30 for explosive material but found none.

When investigators arrested Bean at her residence, she confirmed that she had sent the message and that her only regret was in not using even more explicit language in the message she sent.

Bean, 358 Wilson Drive, was booked into Parish Prison on a count of terrorizing.
