Posted on

lindsay lohan

Lindsay Lohan has several mugshots under her belt, but her first booking photo from 2007 might be the best! She was arrested on July 24 in Santa Monica, Calif., after officers suspected she was driving under the influence. Cops also discovered a small amount of cocaine in her pocket. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one day in jail and 10 days of community service. She spent 84 minutes behind bars before being released due to “overcrowding.”
bruno mars
Singing sensation Bruno Mars was arrested in 2010 in Las Vegas for cocaine possession. The charges were later dismissed. Three years later, the star addressed his legal trouble in an interview with GQ Magazine. “I was young, man! I was in f–king Vegas,” the singer said. “I wasn’t thinking!”

Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez has been sentenced to five days in jail for drunk driving. The troubled star - who plays Ana Lucia on the hit TV series - was caught driving under the influence in Hawaii last December, near to the tropical beach where Lost is filmed. The judge in her Honolulu sentencing hearing today/yesterday (Tue) gave Rodriguez the choice between five days in jail and 240 hours of community service. The actress chose to go to jail. When Police arrested Rodriguez last year she had been out for the evening with her 'Lost' co-star Cynthia Watros, who was following her in a separate car. Rodriguez was driving a black Mercedes-Benz, while Watros was driving a Lexus 4x4. A police officer reported both cars were weaving across lanes and heading into a bike lane. Officers said at the time both actresses had blood-shot, glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol when they were stopped. Rodriguez, according to the police report, was a 'problem child' during the incident. Police said she was "very argumentative" and kept interrupting the police officer as he was explaining the drunk driving arrest. According to the report, Rodriguez said: "I don't f***ing belong here." Glendale police arrest 3 teens in shooting death of Phoenix 18-year-old

, The Republic | azcentral.com7:15 p.m. MST July 5, 2016

Glendale police arrested three teens in the shooting death of 18-year-old Phoenix man Brenner “Justin” Anderson in what investigators described as a drug robbery turned deadly.

Police said Tuesday that Salem Ornelas and Talmontrai Taylor, both 18, and a 17-year-old girl were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of murder.

Police said that Anderson planned to meet and sell marijuana to a girl on June 29 at an apartment complex near Glendale and 43rd avenues. During the planned deal, police said Anderson was shot. He was pronounced dead the following day at a West Valley hospital.

Anderson’s friend told police that Anderson had arranged via Facebook to sell a half-ounce of marijuana to the female suspect, according to court documents.

While on the way to make the deal, Anderson told his friend that the female suspect would be at the location with her pregnant sister, according to court documents.

When Anderson and his friend arrived at the apartment complex, the friend saw a male and a female standing in the parking lot. Anderson got out of the vehicle to greet the suspects and Anderson’s friend offered to give the suspects a ride to an ATM machine to pay for the marijuana, according to court documents.

Court documents indicate that as Anderson entered the rear driver’s side of the vehicle, a male suspect pulled a tan-colored backpack from the vehicle that contained the marijuana. After the suspect took the bag and Anderson had entered the backseat, Anderson’s friend told investigators he heard multiple gunshots. The friend discovered Anderson had been shot and drove him to a nearby hospital, according to court documents.

Investigators used social media to identify the 17-year-old female suspect, who was located in the same vicinity of the shooting, according to court documents.

Detectives performed surveillance of the apartment complex and later obtained a search warrant before arresting the three suspects.

Ornelas and Taylor were booked at a Maricopa County jail and the female suspect was booked at Durango Juvenile Court.

We need to send Eritrea to the International Criminal Court

By Joseph K. Grieboski, contributor

As one of the world’s most oppressive regimes, the Eritrean government has committed extensive crimes against humanity over the past 25 years, according to a report released June 8 by the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea. President Isaias Afwerki, in power since Eritrea’s independence in 1991 following the 30-year war with Ethiopia, has led an increasingly repressive authoritarian regime. The U.N. commission found that enslavement, enforced disappearance, rape, murder, torture and religious persecution are systematically used to instill fear in Eritreans and maintain the regime’s power. These blatant violations of international law clearly constitute crimes against humanity as widespread, systematic attacks against the civilian population.

The Eritrean leadership’s brutality is particularly evident in its enslavement of up to 400,000 people, primarily through military conscription. Eritrea’s system of open-ended service forces conscripts to serve indefinitely, often for decades at a time. This deprivation of liberty amounts to modern-day slavery and allows for inhumane treatment, which Eritrea currently has no legal mechanisms to redress. In military camps, conscripts are frequently subjected to torture, sexual and gender-based violence, forced labor and domestic servitude. Recent developments could further exacerbate their situation. On June 21, Eritrea accused Ethiopia of contemplating full-scale war, strengthening the Eritrean regime’s justification for compulsory military service as a necessary response to perceived Ethiopian aggression.
